The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
